The app teaches visitors about different stories from the Iwi that belong to that area. Manu brings together all these stories as you collect different Taonga and tools mentioned in the stories.

Instead of using an AR marker to trigger the Augmented Reality experience, we’ve placed GPS coordinates that are synced to your phone and activated the moment you arrive at that location. You can unlock each story and be rewarded with a Taonga for your inventory.

The aim of the app is to engage children with new technologies as they become aware of their cultural heritage around New Zealand and get excited about learning.
